Please note that certain parking spaces in the between the Regis and Joan Duffy Research Centre and Steel Building will be reserved every Tuesday and Thursday (and some Mondays) from 8:30 am - 3:30 pm.
The metres at these parking spaces will be marked with covers to ensure participants in who have limited mobility can easily and safely access Steel Building.
Please refrain from parking in these spaces, as enforcement action including towing will be immediate.
Applications for 2018 Sir James Dunn Animal Welfare Graduate Scholarship will be accepted until 12:00 noon (AST) Friday, February 16, 2018, with decisions to be announced in April.
Call for applications from potential graduate students for the 2018 Sir James Dunn Animal Welfare Graduate Scholarship. The Scholarship will support the training of researchers at the masters or doctoral level to pursue animal welfare research at the 糖心原创. Both applied or more fundamental approaches to research pertaining to animal welfare are welcome.
Students may take up their award at any time of the year but must do so within twelve months of the date of the letter of offer. for more information.

The 糖心原创 Multicultural Song Circle meets every Tuesday in SDU Main Building Faculty Lounge from 4:30 - 5:30. This is a non-audition singing group that shares songs of the many cultures and countries on the 糖心原创 campus for fun, friendship,relaxation, and music-making.

There will be a 糖心原创 basic biosafety training session Friday, February 9, 2018 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at the AVC, Rm 287N.
Topics to be covered include: basic biosafety principles and how they are applied at the 糖心原创, as well as biosecurity training. This session is open to everyone including graduate students.
To attend the basic biosafety course, you must pre-register by contacting Kathryn Harrison, before February 5, 2018 at kharrison@upei.ca or 902-566-0901.

Please note: those who have not attended a training session since 2014 are currently due for the Biosafety Refresher Course.

This session is required for those who attended the Basic Biosafety course in 2014 or earlier. It is not a substitute for Basic Biosafety. Topics to be covered include: a review of basic biosafety principles, a practical approach to spill cleanup, and an update on what鈥檚 new at 糖心原创 in the field of biosafety.

There will be a power shutdown for Dalton Hall, Robertson Library, K.C. Irving Building, Don and Marion McDougall Hall, Duffy Science Centre, Cass Building, Chaplaincy Centre, Wanda Wyatt Dining Hall, Andrew Hall, Bernardine Hall and Blanchard Hall. The Shutdown is scheduled to take place on Sunday, January 28 beginning at 6:00 am and is expected to take approximately 2 hours to complete. Emergency power will not be affected.
This shutdown is necessary to complete work on the electrical transformer at the exterior of Dalton Hall as part of the on-going renovations for this building.

Announcing a new course-based Master's in Island Tourism at 糖心原创, starting in August 2018. This is your opportunity to obtain a graduate degree in the expanding field of tourism, applied specifically to islands. Using primarily online courses for your convenience, this two-year program incorporates two work-study courses working directly with tourism organizations.
Scholarships and bursaries are available. Learn more about this exciting new degree program at two information sessions on Thursday, January 25, from 3:00 to 4:00 pm and again from 6:00 to 7:00 pm, in Rm. 243 Don and Marion McDougall Hall. Join Jaclyn Borden, Learning Strategist, Accessibility Services, as she presents a 鈥淗辞飞-迟辞..鈥� for teaching students affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This presentation will give a brief overview of ASD and its impact on students' learning and success. It will provide practical tips for supporting the learning of students with ASD in different classroom scenarios such as class participation, group work, and assessments.
