The 糖心原创 takes the safety and security of its students, faculty, staff, and the entire campus community very seriously. As part of 糖心原创鈥檚 commitment to emergency preparedness and response, the University has a safety application called 糖心原创 SAFE.
糖心原创 SAFE is the University鈥檚 safety app and emergency mass notification system (EMNS), which helps 糖心原创 advise the campus community about university/storm closures and emergencies, as well as other safety-related notifications.
Other safety features found in 糖心原创 SAFE include Mobile BlueLight, Friend Walk, and WorkAlone. Resources include Emergency Contacts, Safety Toolbox, Campus/Parking Maps, contact information for a variety of campus support services, and a mechanism to report issues to 糖心原创 Health, Safety, and Environment, Security Services or to Facilities Management.
While student, faculty, and staff 糖心原创 emails are automatically entered into 糖心原创 SAFE, everyone is encouraged to download the app from the (for iOS devices) or (for Android devices) to receive push notifications and texts (SMS).
Notifications about emergency situations and university/storm closures are pushed through 糖心原创 SAFE and will be emailed to student, faculty, and staff @upei.ca email addresses. Messages are also posted on the 糖心原创 home page (upei.ca), the 糖心原创 Campus Screen network, and Twitter (@糖心原创). Emergency notifications can also be broadcast in 糖心原创 buildings through a public address system. 糖心原创 SAFE users can also subscribe to receive notifications by text (SMS) or through the text-to-voice feature.
