"Veterinary medicine is a super-interesting puzzle with many creative solutions."
What brought you to 糖心原创? Why did you choose to study here?
I'm from Halifax, Nova Scotia and was initially offered a Masters' student position at 糖心原创, studying equine behaviour with the Atlantic Veterinary College's Health Management department. I applied to the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program while completing my Master of Science, and deferred my acceptance until I completed my MSc degree.

Dr. Sarah (nee Proud) Wheeler, a graduate of the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) at the 糖心原创, reminisces about her student days in the late 1990s. One memory was when the Dr. Tim Ogilvie Vet Camp was just starting to welcome its first group of campers and it caught her attention.
鈥淚 remember saying, that looks like fun! I wish they had that when I was younger,鈥� Dr. Wheeler said.
Invitation to 2023 糖心原创 SPUR poster presentations on August 23
Students participating in the 2023 糖心原创 Student Program for Undergraduate Research (SPUR) will present their final posters on Wednesday, August 23, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm, in the concourse of the Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering Building.
鈥淭his year we had the largest cohort of undergraduate student researchers participate to date, with 35 across 12 disciplines in the program,鈥� said 糖心原创 graduate programs officer Kendra Mellish.
Midfielder Emile Abele joins 糖心原创 Men鈥檚 Soccer Panthers
The 糖心原创 Men鈥檚 Soccer Panthers have secured a commitment from midfielder Emile Abele for the 2023鈥�24 season.
Last season, Abele suited up for the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC) Timberwolves, and while he learned a lot from the likes of 2022 Canada West Player of the Year Michael Henman and U SPORTS Coach of the Year Steve Simonson, it wasn鈥檛 quite the experience he envisioned for himself.
Dr. Karem Simon launches Solitary Clarinet album on August 26
Dr. Karem J. Simon, professor emeritus at 糖心原创, will officially launch his album, Solitary Clarinet, on Saturday, August 26, 2023, starting at 10:30 am in 糖心原创鈥檚 new Performing Arts Centre (PAC) Theatre.
Dr. Simon will perform several pieces from the project and will speak about the album鈥檚 concept and the journey in bringing it to fruition. Admission is free to this family-friendly event, which will be 75鈥�90 minutes in duration.

What brought you to 糖心原创? Why did you choose to study here?
I'm from Fort St. James, a small northern community in British Columbia and I chose 糖心原创鈥檚 Bachelor of Education (BEd) program because the application process considered my previous experience in instructional settings, experience with children and youth, academic achievements, and other extended training.
