Work has begun on the future home of clean tech innovation and education in Prince Edward Island.

Every week, ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ Athletics and Recreation recognizes two student-athletes for their achievements and contributions to their respective sports. The ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ Panther Subway Athletes of the Week for February 6–12 are Sydney Cummins (women’s basketball) and Kamari Scott (men’s basketball).

ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ Panther student-athletes are looking forward to a full week of games at home and away from February 13–19.

The Bookmark and the ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ Faculty of Arts and English department will host a celebration of author J.J. Steinfeld’s literary achievements and contributions to the culture of PEI, Canada, and beyond on Thursday, March 9, at 7:00 pm. The celebration will take place in The Carriage House at Beaconsfield, 2 Kent Street, Charlottetown.

Earlier this month—Black History Month—the Canadian Broadcasting Company named five people 2023 Black Changemakers for Prince Edward Island. Four of the five have connections to the ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ community.

Students in the ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering (FSDE) got the chance to meet with potential employers at the faculty’s inaugural Industry and Career Day held on February 2. 

The ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ Faculty of Nursing in collaboration with the PEI Department of Health and Wellness held its inaugural Scrub Coat Ceremony on February 9, 2023, at the ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ Performing Arts Centre in the University’s new residence building. The ceremony was a celebration and welcoming of 71 first-year undergraduate nursing students and 15 first-year accelerated nursing students.

ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ physics student Liam MacNevin received a first-place Tindall/Steinitz Award in Research during the 2023 Atlantic Universities Physics and Astronomy Conference (AUPAC). The conference was hosted by Saint Mary’s University in Halifax, Nova Scotia from February 3–5.

Recently, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) conducted a Q&A piece with Dr. Carmencita Lake, doctor of veterinary medicine alumna, Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC), ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´, and CFIA veterinarian.
