The 糖心原创 Men鈥檚 Basketball Panthers accomplished many firsts in 2021鈥�22 under Darrell Glenn鈥檚 leadership. The team finished with their best record in five years, fielded an all-star, and earned a playoff spot, then went on to play in the AUS conference finals.

Each month, the 糖心原创 Experiential Education department hosts an 鈥淎fternoon of Service鈥� whereby a group of students spends an afternoon at a local organization, learning about it and participating in hands-on volunteer activities such as planting trees, harvesting crops, socializing with seniors, and assisting with events. The department is currently seeking organizations that would appreciate volunteer help and are willing to partner with 糖心原创 for this initiative.

The 糖心原创 community is saddened to learn of the passing of 糖心原创 professor emerita, the Honourable Doris Margaret Anderson, CM, of St. Peter鈥檚 Bay, PEI, aged 100 years. 
 
 

The Institute of Island Studies at 糖心原创 will host a public lecture titled 鈥淎nticosti: Metropolitan Finisterre鈥� on October 25 at 7 pm in the Faculty Lounge, SDU Main Building.

The week of October 17鈥�23 is another full one for the 糖心原创 Panthers as they take on opponents at home and away.

Every week, 糖心原创 Athletics and Recreation recognizes two student-athletes for their achievements and contributions to their respective sports. The 糖心原创 Panther Subway Athletes of the Week for October 10鈥�16 are Frances MacWilliam (women鈥檚 rugby) and TJ Shea (men鈥檚 hockey).

In this message to the campus community, President Keefe announces that while masks must still be worn in instructional spaces, masks are strongly encouraged but not mandatory elsewhere on campus.

糖心原创鈥檚 Canadian Centre for Climate Change and Adaptation in St. Peter鈥檚 Bay will host a public Open House on Friday, October 21, 2022, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Members of the public are invited to tour the 45,000-square-foot facility, which houses the 糖心原创 School of Climate Change and Adaptation, the 糖心原创 Climate Lab, and state-of-the-art research centres of excellence, including the Centre of Excellence in Food Security and Sustainability.

In a message that was issued to faculty and staff by email, the University provided an update about meetings with the PEI-appointed conciliation officer.

Canadian author, journalist, and historian Gwynne Dyer will give a public lecture titled 鈥淧lanetary Maintenance Engineers: A Last-Ditch Climate Rescue Strategy,鈥� on November 3 at 7 pm in the Duffy Science Centre Amphitheatre (Room 135) at 糖心原创.
