The Bookmark and ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´â€™s Faculty of Indigenous Knowledge, Education, Research, and Applied Studies (IKERAS) will host a book launch for Anishinaabe author Tanya Talaga’s new book, The Knowing, on Thursday, November 7, at 7 pm, in the ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ Performing Arts Centre amphitheatre (Room 121S). 

U SPORTS has announced the seedings and bracket for the , hosted by the ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´. The tournament gets underway on Wednesday, October 30, and concludes on Sunday, November 3.

Every week, ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ Athletics and Recreation recognizes student-athletes for their achievements and contributions to their respective sports. The ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ Panther Athletes of the Week for October 21–27, 2024, are Grace Richard (women’s cross country) and Jack Roberts (men’s cross country).

The ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ Recruitment and First-Year Advisement team is hosting a Fall Open House on Friday, November 1, from 12:00–4:00 pm, for high school students interested in studying at the University. 

Fuelled by a veteran core determined to leave their mark, the ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ Women’s Basketball Panthers is a team built to compete for a title in 2024–25. With years of experience, the Panthers are poised to make their strongest push yet as they embrace what could be their final chance to capture a title together.

The ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ Women’s Field Hockey Panthers completed a stunning three-peat, capturing their third straight Atlantic University Field Hockey (AUFH) championship with a dramatic 1-0 shootout win over the Dalhousie University Tigers on October 20.

Four ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ researchers have received funding from PEI’s 2024 Climate Challenge Fund: Dr. Kuljeet Grewal, Dr. Stephanie Shaw, and Dr. Yulin Hu, all of the Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering, and Dr. Xander Wang, School of Climate Change and Adaptation.
 

ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ biology students Leah Campbell, of Cornwall, PEI, and Alexa Marshall, of Bay Roberts, NL, spent two weeks in Costa Rica this summer, gaining practical veterinary experience as participants of Loop Abroad’s Costa Rica Pre-Vet Wildlife Medicine program.

Dr. Wendy Rodgers was officially installed as the seventh President and Vice-Chancellor of the ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ during a ceremony held at the ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ Performing Arts Centre on Friday, October 11, 2024.

AVC honoured students and faculty during the annual Fall Awards and Recognition Night. More than $260,000 in scholarships and 80 awards were presented. Also, Dr. Cate Creighton received the Students of the CVMA Teacher of the Year Award.
