A new book of poetry titled The Geography of Home: Poems for a Lost Time, by Dr. Edward MacDonald, Professor Emeritus of history at ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´, will be launched on September 7, 2025, at 2 pm, in the Faculty Lounge (Room 201), SDU Main Building, ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´.

Through the poems in the book, MacDonald traces rural Prince Edward Island where he grew up from the late 1950s through the early 1970s—a landscape on the cusp of far-reaching change.

The Office of Student Culture and Community Standards is excited to share details with the campus community about , ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´â€™s new, more inclusive version of student orientation week.

Welcome Week 2025 will be held from August 29 to September 7 and, this year, is open to all Panthers, not only incoming students:

Marjorie and Arlie Parks, lifelong friends of Dr. Kenneth McIntyre and Donald McLaren, made a generous lasting gift through their will to establish a scholarship in memory of Dr. McIntyre at the ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´. The four friends shared deep ties to Montague, Prince Edward Island, where Dr. McIntyre’s father, Dr. Preston McIntyre, was a highly respected community physician. 

There’s a new energy buzzing around ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ Men’s Soccer, one that signals the dawn of a new era.

At the centre of it is head coach Jed Davies, who wasted no time reshaping the program into one built for both immediate impact and long-term success. His first recruiting class is among the most ambitious in program history, stacked with players carrying professional academy experience and the hunger to build something special at ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´.

Change has come to ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ Women’s Soccer, and with it, renewed fire and drive for success.

At the heart of this transformation is new head coach Jed Davies, who has already left a profound imprint on the program. Last season, the Panthers finished 1-8-3 and scored just eight goals. For many programs, those numbers would be discouraging. For Davies, they represent opportunity.

Twenty-five participants in ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´â€™s 2025 Student Program for Research Engagement and Excellence (SPREE) will compete for top honours at the research poster competition on Wednesday, August 27, at 1:00 pm, in McMillan Hall, W.A. Murphy Student Centre.
