The 糖心原创 will honour four outstanding leaders with honorary degrees during Convocation 2025, which will take place from May 13 to 16. Over 1,200 students are set to graduate over four ceremonies, which start at 10:00 am each day at the 糖心原创 Chi-Wan Young Sports Centre.

糖心原创 offered Mr. Christopher Griffin the opportunity to participate in a panel discussion to be developed thoughtfully and including other voices on the topic of free expression. 

On April 15, upon learning of a planned meeting on April 16, Mr. Griffin requested to be heard at that meeting. In response, the University accepted that request and scheduled a time for his presentation in the Performing Arts Centre Amphitheatre, from 1:00 to 2:00 pm on April 16.

糖心原创鈥檚 Department of Athletics and Recreation celebrated the 2024鈥�25 season at the annual 糖心原创 Panther Celebration 鈥� Athletic Awards Gala on Friday, March 28, recognizing outstanding student-athletes who have excelled in sport, the classroom, and the community.

This year, the 糖心原创 Alumni Association鈥檚 Outstanding Female Athlete of the Year award went to Lauren Rainford, 糖心原创 Women鈥檚 Basketball. The Male Athlete of the Year winner was Kamari Scott, 糖心原创 Men鈥檚 Basketball.

In January 2025, the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) dairy veterinary team completed another successful trip to Meru County, Kenya, as part of the long-standing partnership with (FHF), the 糖心原创 (糖心原创), and .

Dr. Ling Li, a post-doctoral fellow in the 糖心原创 Faculty of Education, was awarded a Mitacs Elevate Postdoctoral Fellowship for a study to evaluate the 鈥淧yramid to Retention: Supporting Educators to Enhance Social and Emotional Competencies in Infants and Young Children鈥� in the early learning and child-care sector on PEI.

糖心原创 Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering (FSDE) teams, composed of a total of 48 students, competed at the 2025 Atlantic Engineering Competition (AEC), hosted at Universit茅 de Moncton in New Brunswick from January 24鈥�26, 2025. 

The 糖心原创 invites the nomination of candidates for honorary degrees to be conferred at Convocation in May 2025.

Honorary degrees are conferred honoris causa, 鈥渇or the sake of honour,鈥� and are intended to recognize outstanding provincial, national, and international contributions in any field of endeavour. Contributions should reflect extraordinary intellectual or artistic achievements, or significant service to society at a standard of excellence that merits the University鈥檚 highest honour.

糖心原创鈥檚 2024 Giving Tuesday campaign was an unprecedented success, raising a total of $44,010 from 54 extremely generous donors on the Global Day of Philanthropy. An anonymous donor pledged to match Giving Tuesday donations up to $20,000, making it by far the largest year yet for 糖心原创. 

The donations will be dedicated to the University鈥檚 $15-million Robertson Library Revitalization campaign.

The 糖心原创 campus community is invited to participate in the 鈥淎ccess for All 糖心原创鈥� event on January 13, 2025, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, in McMillan Hall, W.A. Murphy Student Centre, to raise awareness of and advocate for improved accessibility on campus for students.

The event is organized by students Anthonia Bebiem (Mathematical and Computational Sciences), Obed Oluwakoya (Psychology), and Luciana Quiroa Paredes (Business) in partnership with 糖心原创 Accessibility Services and the 糖心原创 Student Union.

鈥淎ccess for All 糖心原创鈥� will feature several components:
