糖心原创 community members may have noticed a job posting in September 2024 for a senior role called 鈥淯niversity Secretary.鈥
In part 1 of 糖心原创 Governance 101, we learned that governance is the system of rules, processes, and practices by which institutions and organizations are managed and controlled. The job of managing governance in a university setting falls to the university secretariat, which is overseen by a governance professional called the university secretary.
Climate Careers Day
Students are invited to the Climate Career day, Wednesday, March 11 from 10-12:30 in the Main Building Faculty Lounge (Room 201) to meet with local professionals and organizations that work with climate issues. This opportunity is intended to connect students with potential employers while also learning about different career paths.

Ashton Dougan is an assistant professor in the 糖心原创 Faculty of Nursing and a PhD candidate whose research explores simulation and creative pedagogy in nursing education. She believes that art isn't just expression鈥攊t's a powerful tool for building empathy and ethical understanding in future nurses.

Every week, 糖心原创 Athletics and Recreation recognizes student-athletes for their achievements and contributions to their respective sports. The 糖心原创 Panther Source for Sports Athletes of the Week for February 23鈥揗arch 1 are Erin Cabaday (women鈥檚 hockey) and Cole Larkin (men鈥檚 hockey).

New poetry collection speaks to and from the Island
In her third poetry collection, Judy Gaudet 鈥渂rings us heart-deep and eye-level with Prince Edward Island鈥檚 fields, woods, and shores,鈥 says Deirdre Kessler, former PEI Poet Laureate. Published by Island Studies Press, the book will be launched on March 24, at 7 pm, in the Faculty Lounge, Main Building Room 201, 糖心原创.

Orientation for New Faculty, Librarians, Clinical Nursing Instructors, and Clinical Veterinary Professionals
This university-level orientation is meant for all newly hired faculty, librarians, clinical nursing instructors and clinical veterinary professionals of all ranks and tracks and complements orientation programming offered by your unit and Human Resources. Our event will take place over three afternoons--August 17-20, 2026 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm in the Teaching and Learning Centre --and will introduce you to several senior administrators, colleagues from a variety of teaching, research, and support units as well as the 糖心原创FA, our faculty union.
